Jazz Singer Bill Henderson, who recorded with Count Basie, Oscar Peterson & Horace Silver, and later became a supporting/small role film and TV character actor, was born in Chicago on March 19th, 1926.


Henderson also recorded with Jazz greats Eddie Harris, Yusef Lateef and Jimmy Smith



In front of the camera, Henderson is known for his juicy scene stealing bits in such comedies as CITY SLICKERS, CLUE, FLETCH, MOTHER, JUGS & SPEED and SILVER STREAK


Cult film fans know him best, in his element, as the Muddy Waters-like Saturn Theater performer King Blues, in 1983's GET CRAZY

Henderson made his acting debut in 1971 playing teachers on a couple of THE BILL COSBY SHOW episodes, working steady the next 35 years, appearing in almost 90 TV shows and feature films.
