One of the the most important day of our life is the wedding day. A wedding is also one most important and expensive parties You'll throw in your life. Which is why people ensure the right flower, right gown, right everything is in place.
But here's Fola's view about wedding, you don't need to spend a fortune on your wedding to make it memorable. Your wedding doesn't need to be expensive to be memorable.
Fam, you need not break a bank to have that dream wedding.
Did you even know, you can have a glamorous wedding without having to run into debt? You just need to have the mindset that it's the marriage that matters more than the wedding. And hey, you're not competing with no one. Just understand that you ain't in no race with anyone.

Someone once told me weddings are buttonless pit where you keep throwing money. The only way to boycott this endless spending is to be strategic, here are a few tips that will help you if you're thinking a low budget Nigerian wedding.
You Don't Need Everyone To Get Married
The first thing you need to settle with your spouse and mind is your number of guest. This is so important that it's the determinate of other major expenditure on your wedding. Reduced guest means you're spending less on venue, food and drinks, souvenirs.
Truth is you don't need everyone to get married. You only need close relatives and friends. I know this can be difficult especially with Nigerian parents, but you just have to make them see your point particularly if you're the one spending.
I understand that there are street people, village people, yard people 😄😄 your parent or even you would like to invite for the wedding. You just have to settle with a limited important guest for your wedding. I don't know how I can emphasize this point.
The Venue
This is another major avenue that consumes huge chunk of money in weddings. In Lagos, halls go for about 300k-1m. There's no point having a low budget wedding if you're already thinking about spending 300k or more on hall. Remember you already have a limited number of guest coming for your wedding so you don't need that much space.
Now, if you can get a hall for about 100-150k then you're lucky if not, you need to improvise. First what are your available space(s)? You probably have the church compound, the bride's compound or parlor. Great, remember you'll pay little or nothing to use these available spaces. Hence, since you have a limited number of guest, you don't have to spend a chunk on a hall.
Decor
This is very important as it brings glamour, color and life to your big day. If you're using an empty space like the church compound or the bride's compound like I suggested above then you have to kill it with decor. You'll first need to get those fancy nice looking canopies as seen in this picture (canopy pictures)
After which you need to get a decor team that can do an out door decor for you. You'll probably be spending about 150-300k on this. Here are some outdoor wedding decor ideas
The Dress
You know how as a child you've had dreams and imagination of how your wedding dress will or should look like and how you've drooled on those breath taking wedding dresses on Instagram even as an adult.
Chill out, those dreams can be fulfilled. You'll spend nothing less than 300k and more to have a custom dress. Do you know there are places you can customized your wedding dress for about 100k on rent? Did you even know you can buy or make your wedding dress and still make some good money on reselling them off after use?
For Traditional Marriage
Do you know you can spend 70k on your dress from head to toe. You can either make your asooke or buy nice French or sample lace material for about 40-50k, buy a super nice shoe for 10k and clutch for 5k. All you need to achieve this is bundled that friend, sister or cousin of yours that has good eyes for things like these, you can also save up pictures on Pinterest or Instagram just so you have and idea of what you want.
