THYROID DISEASE : CAUSES, SYMPTOMS , TREATMENTS

Thyroid creates and produce shormones that play a role in many different systems throughout your body . When your thyroid makes either too much or too little of these important hormones , it's called a thyroid disease. including hyperthyroidism , hypothyrodism , thyroiditis and Hashimoto 's thyroiditis . The thyroid gland is a small organ that located in the front of the necjk , wrapped around the windpipe . It's shaped like a buttterfly , smaller in the middle  with  two wide wings that extend around the side of your body, they create and release substances that help your body do a specific thing . Thyroid makes hormones that help control many vital  functions of your body . Body makes too much thyroid hormones , that can devlop  a condition called hyperythyroidism . Bosy makes too little thyroid hormone it's called hypothyroidism . 

THYROID DISEASE 



Thyroid disease is a general term for a mediacl conditionthat keeps your thyroid from making thre right amount of hormones . Thyroid typically makes your body functioning normally . The thyroid makes too much thyroid hormones that keeps  , your body uses energy too much thyroid hormone  , your body uses energy too quickly . this is called hyperthyroidism . The flip - side of this , your thyroid can make too little thyroid hormone . This is called hypothyroidism . Little thyroid hormones in your body , it can make you feel tired , you might gain weight and you may even be unable to tolerate cold temperatures . 


CAUSES  THYROID  DISEASE :



The main 2 types of thyroid disease  are hypothyroidism and hyoerthyroidism . both conditions can be caused by other disease that impact the way the thyroid  gland works . 

1. THYROIDITIS : This conditions is an inflammation of the thyroid glands . Thyroiditis can lower the amount of hormones your thyroid produces . 

2. HASHIMOTO 'S THYROIDITIS  : A pinless disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune condition wheren the body's cells attack and damage the thyroid . this is an inherited condition . 

3. POSTPARTUM THYROIDITIS : This condition occurs  in 5% to 9% of women after childbirth . 

4. IODINE DEFICIENCY : Iodine is used by the thyroid to produce hormones . An iodine is an issue that affects several  million people around the world . 

5. NON - FUNCTIONING THYROID GLAND : the thyroid  gland  doesn't work correctly from birth . All new borns are given a screening blood test in the hospital to check their  thyroid function . 


SYMPTOMS OF THYROIDS DISEASE :



There are a variety of symptoms of a thyroid condition are often very similar to the signs of other medical conditions and stages of life . This can make it difficult to know your symptoms are related to a thyroid issue or something else entirely . 

Symptoms of an overactive thyroid [ Hyperthyroidism ] can include :

- Experiencing anxiety , irritability and nervousness. 

- Having trouble sleeping .

- Losing weight. 

- Having an enlarged thyroid gland or a goiter . 

- Having muscle weakness and tremors . 

- Feeling sensitive to heat . 

- Having vision problems or eye irrition . 


HOW THYROID DISEASE TREATED ?



This can be done in a variety of hormone levels to normal . This can be done in a variety of ways and each specific treatments will depend on the cause of your thyroid condition . 

High levels of thyroid hormones , treatments options can include :

1. Anti thyroid drugs : These are medications that stop your thyroid from making hormones . 

2. Radioactive iodine : This treatment damaged the cells of your thyroids , preventing it from making high levels of thyroid hormones . 

3. Beta blockers : These medications don't change the amount of hormoned in your body , but they help control your symptoms . 

4. Surgery : A more permanent form of treatment , your healthcare  provider may surgically remove  your thyroid . this will stop it from creating hormones . 

Low levels of thyroid hormones , the main treatment options is :

- Thyroid replacement medication : This drug is a synthetic way to add thyroid hormones back into your body . A medication , you can control thyroid disease and live a normal life .
