Danish music/theater/art collective founded 1969 with the purpose of making "political, proletarian art". The collective counted musicians, actors, writers and visual artists. The group's recorded music was written for plays or cabarets. The division of the greater collective that worked with music was also called "Røde Mor Rockcircus". The line-up has changed over the years, from the 1971 debut album, over the most successful album "Hjemlig Hygge" in 1976, to the final "Sylvesters Drøm" in 1978. Singer and composer Troels Trier may be seen as the group's leading member. Among those also associated with Røde Mor ...~
The artist collective Røde Mor was a legend while they existed, but the result of the group's work came for a number of years to be in the shadow of the individual members' production. There is really no reason for this, and not at all here at the beginning of the new millennium. Troels Trier's tiny peace of mind of an average dancer's nose has not been shorter in the time of a society where idealist is the likely successor to working as the next blasphemy in a language whose identity is under strong fake. We need the cultural heritage that the Røde Mor can give us. Part of it we may not be able to use in practice, but it can give us inspiration to think ... even.
The Røde Mor was initially pictorial artists and two of these, Troels Trier and Ole Finding, had previously played traditional jazz in a leisure group. Together with the author Dea Trier Mørch, the foundation for RED MUST was created and the trio was quickly supplemented by the graphic artists Thomas Kruse and John Ravn, whose percussionist career in the Balkans Trio and later Savage Rose at that time lay outside even utopia Later, Peter Ingemann, Henrik Strube , Clausen and Petersen to and Røde Mor's Rock Circus were running.
The name Røde Mor was carefully thought out: The members clearly wanted to draw attention to their socialist affiliation while, in both name and logo, MOM expressed a far more comprehensive and compassionate approach to a class struggle that still existed - especially culturally and as members felt like part of.
At the end of the 60s, rock music was gradually becoming a cultural radical factor in Denmark, but it still had difficulty breaking through in the mass media and was first and foremost regarded as part of the generational statement.
The musical youth rebellion came well enough from the well-settled middle class in the United States, but since the music originally came from the social lower layers, it was natural for the musical side of the collective to take it on and use it for exhibitions of political poster art.
First in a loose folk music form, which should slowly develop into the largest music theater in the Danish music history
The Røde Mor still exists as a cultural institution and regularly holds briefings about each other's projects, and the individual members are in most cases still active as artists: For the members of the Røde Mor 's rock circus often a bit criss-cross: Troels Trier continued as a soloist and later on a firm collaboration with Rebecca Brüel (Virgin Ane) in a further development of the satire over the complacent Danish lifestyle, in between he made the satirical play "Natlægen" together with Niels Skousen, Anne Marie Helger, Helle Fastrup and Erik Clausen, who on the the other side became a Danish filmmaker by showing that the Danish folk comedy could become popular, even though it had a realistic human face. He often did this as an instructor and actor in collaboration with Leif Petersen as an actor. He developed Clausen & Petersen musically on record with the participation of the "microphone singer" Eva Madsen, and later without Clausen in the group Sylvester & Svalerne. Henrik Strube formed Henrik Strube Band under the strong influence of Swedish rock, especially Ulf Lundell, and Peter Ingemann was largely with all places, in virtually all contexts, in addition to his concurrent musical collaboration with Stig Møller, Kim Larsen and the creation of the group Dream City with guitarist Tømrer Claus, whom he had previously played with in the Music Patrol and drummer Bo Jacobsen (Blue Sun, Nada). One can suspect Peter Ingemann to have a hidden monogrammed twin, which he pulls up now and then when he has to be three places at once (two he can do well).
The Røde Mor arranged countless art exhibitions and published tons of material: music - books - catalogs - pictures - pamphlets - songbooks, including an annual manifesto, describing how it stood on the political scene and with them. The first manifesto was released in 1970 and here in 2002, Røde Mor publishes a new manifesto: Red Mother and the new times.
The Røde Mor suspended the artistic production in 1978 and instead created a fund of income from the sale of records and posters. The fund supports political art on the Danish left.....Artikel ved Erik Kramshøj, journalist DR ....~
Røde Mor was the seventies most significant political band-and-art-comunity in Denmark. They were very succesfully - thoug called themselves "kommunists" - they knew how to make money and great live acts. Their final act is over - as meaningfull protest-band, but they have been reunited a couple of times lately: Last exit before entry to the history books. hear this macnificent band: What they did, how they did it - and why... ~
The Røde Mor is a Danish artists' collective with a declared socialist standpoint. The collective music group existed from 1969 to 1978 and resurrected in 2002 . From the start, the group was a trio consisting of Troels Trier who sang, Lars Trier on guitar and Ole Thilo on piano. They acted on the collections of the collective artists. The Red Mother was actually a group of visual artists, who in the 1968 spirit joined together to become an artist collective. In 1971 , the group released an LP, Rok Ork , the group now consisted of Michael Boesen , guitar etc.Jens Asbjørn Olesen , Harmony and Piano, Poul Poulsen , bass and song, Lars Trier, guitar and banjo and Troels Trier, guitar, violin mouth harp and song. In the beginning, the driving force was protest against the Vietnam War . Their specialty was protest songs . Their most famous publication is Homely cosiness from 1976 .
In 2002, the Red Mother was restored with an anniversary tour under the name of the Red Mother's Rolling Rollator Show. In 2007 , the Red Mother was awarded the IFPI Honorary Award at the Danish Music Awards .....~
